A New Year

A new year has started. This one will be one of dreams fulfilled, new opportunities, and goals met. What does this mean for SART? It means that we will be doing more TNR, finding wonderful adoptive families, and educating about how community members can make a difference in correcting the state of homeless animals. Everyone can help. Become a team member with SART. Spend some time at our facility doing honest, hard work. It will do wonders for helping you feel refreshed and worthy. Help a stray get a better life by having the medical done, providing a safe place for it to live, and getting one more off of the streets….the possibilities go on and on.

Personally, I always advise people on how to fix problems in behavior with the pets in their homes. Litter box issues, misbehaviors, and frustrations take the fun out of pet ownership. I, too, had a few kitties in my home that were not ” following the rules” . I took action with the help of my volunteers. I made a room up for Catland, and kept them in that room over the holidays so that they would not be stressed while family was visiting over Christmas. I spent time each day brushing and loving on my kitties in their special room, which was filled with toys, blankies, catnip, treats, food, water and litter boxes. I reconnected with them on their level and their behavior changed. They are back in the household and I am continuing to spend the time with them every day, brushing, singing, and playing with them. They are happy, which makes me happy. I have always told people to spend time with their pets each day to keep them healthy, happy and interactive. I took my own advice, despite how horribly busy I am, and I see a huge difference. This tells me that my advice works. So, start the new year grooming a little more, playing a little more, and just sitting down and interacting with your pets a little more. You will see a huge, wonderful difference!

Thank you to all who help make a difference. Together we are making our little part of the world a happier place.
